Mercado de Matosinhos

The Portuguese love their seafood and so do we.

We took the local 500 bus from Sao Bento, the main station to Matosinhos Mercado, out a way along the river. It was a truly lovely bus ride along the edge of the river and with very different neighbourhoods to where we are based. Matosinhos is where the fishing boats of Porto come and go from and where the seafood market and lots of seafood restaurants are located.

We asked an optician for directions and she sent us to a wonderful little restaurant called Casa Agoostino. Unfortunately we didn’t find it the first time around so we are going back to find it again and this time try it.
